Cleanliness is next to godliness, at least thats what they say. There is something to be said about a record that is clean. I don't mean the audio, I don't mean the language. I am talking about its structure. When something is put together in a simple way to deliver a sound that is clean. "All Orbits Are Free" by The Crushing Low. Hailing from Allston, Massachusettes The Crushing Low dips into various styles of rock, from the droned out mid-90's rock, to the super swanky indie rock we have grown to love. It would seem that it's all over the place, but this is not the case. Their sound is pure and the album is quite exuberant. It flutters with that glimmer of a world with great music. A clean future with music that we can all listen to. Although "All Orbits Are Free" is an EP, It seems that they will be going far in their career. If you happen to see their name on a marquee, go in. You will not be disappointed. "All Orbits Are Free" have unleashed the stars and it is up to us to see them shine. Open your eyes, they are ready to be seen. - Turtle

The Crushing Low (great band name!), hailing from Boston, make poppy indie rock. Their debut EP, All Orbits Are Free, is out now. I fell in love with Skies Divide, the first track. It’s a little shoegaze, a little Bloc Party. In fact, the whole six-song thing is pretty damn good. But don’t take my word for it, stream the entire EP at their site. www.thecrushinglow.com - Ekko

6-song CD
Despite the odd production and murky mix, the Crushing Low’s debut collection of songs represent a mature extension of the sonic chocobliss™ harvested from bands like Interpol, U2, and Bloc Party. The song arrangements remind me of late ’80s Cure with a deliberately dreamy twist. There is not a bad song on here, and while the guitars and the ambient effects tend to overwhelm the mix at times, the material presented here is lush and radio-friendly, carving a cerebral path of Brit pop Chris Martin could only hope to achieve, if only he had more indie rock cred. Make more music soon! (Joel Simches)
